Sounds like a possible bad lift pump or injection pump. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

which raptor you referring to? I have a 150gph and it does the job. get that and a gauge asap Skyler is 100% right about your vp44, they don't last when they aren't treated right!!

ok well i am buying a 100 gph raptor to put on it. took it to kentucky and back and it started to sputter on the way back especially when you hit 3rd or 4th had no power low in rpm range and hesitated to give power ( and what pressure range is safe for the vp44 )

15-18 psi... most common you will hear idling no higher than 20psi and if you have WOT pressure drops they shouldn't go under 10. You should use the key trick to scan for codes... when my VP went there were no warnings, I started getting the "dead pedal" and the next day my pump quit.
