Default Seat belt light

Is there a way to disable the seat belt light. Other than wearing it, putting a peice of electrical tape over it on the dash, or taking out the light bulb? I don't wear my seat belt in town with the low speed limits but at night that damn thing is way to bright.

I'm pretty sure if you unplug it under your seat your problem will be solved. I do it to everything I drive, I also find the wire for the door sensor as well.

The switch for the light is on the windup belt spool, did I say that right?!! On straight cab the "spool" is behind the plastic interior panel, On extended cab models it is the same also, not sure on models with rear doors. Not sure if the switch shorts the wires togther or opens the circuit, not hard to check

Ha my light has never worked, I don't know if it burnt out or not but can't say I've had the problem. Makes me forget all the time to put it on which is a no no here in cheyenne now that its an official law
