I have an 01 2500, and i wanted to know how to get the high idle, is there another way than taking it to the dealer?... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Depends on the dealer - some have done it for free and then some will charge you an arm and a leg.
Other good cold weather options are an exhaust brake, ESPAR heater, or SMARTY (this will enable the high idle as well) If you want a do it youself project and are handy with wiring let me know and I will see what info I can find. Last edited by Dr. Evil; 11-05-2007 at 10:12 AM.. |

The trip to the dealer is going to cost your at least a 1 shop hour for them to enable the high idle feature on your truck. So its about $60-$120 for the flash at a dealer.
If you can barrow a Smarty for about 5 minutes you'll get the high idle enabled for free! |

Are you sure about that? I believe that the high idle feature goes away after you remove the Smarty.
