hey yall as some of u know not to long ago i replaced my steerin gear and now i need to replace the pump as well just wanderin if anyone has tips, tricks, or short cuts to this job any help is appreciated thanks for ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Default power steering pump

hey yall as some of u know not to long ago i replaced my steerin gear and now i need to replace the pump as well just wanderin if anyone has tips, tricks, or short cuts to this job any help is appreciated thanks for readin

24vcumminscowboy's Sig:01 dodge ram 2500 quad cab long box afe stage 2 intake, diablo sport power puck,silencer ring mia, fass 95 gph, 4in straight pipe to 6in stacks, bd boost eblow, gauges are boost, fuel press, egt. Killer Dowel Pin KILLED custom home made cow catcher and headache rack

Status: I'm thinking 100hp injectors are next.

Its not bad, we pulled the power steering pump off the vac pump instead of pulling them both in one unit, seemed to work good.

We did have a hell of a time getting the new pump to prime, maybe someone has a trick for that, I dont know.

2x 1990 VE pumped trucks, they were cheap and I wasnt gonna let them go for junk.
'63 Plymouth drag car, blown alky, 8.0s in the 1/4 (I know not a diesel)

Try disconnecting the line at the box until fluid comes out. Seal it back up, fill the res and try again.

ok im lookin at a napa reman pump the regular one is $57 with $50 core or they have one with a magna pure filtration system for $30 more just wander if u guys have an opinion im leanin to the cheap side

maximus how did u go about seperating the ps pump from the vacum pump its just those four bolts as far as i can see looks like a b-i-t-c-h to get those two on the engine side off just wanderin how u did it what tool u used

thats the way you remove it you use a wrench if you have a ratchet wrench it will make your job easier
and as far as priming it you turn the wheel all the way to one side and then visa versa it will prime and get air free

Yes, those bolts are a bitch, but not impossible.

One more note, the drive stub shaft for the PS pump is the VAC pumps sealing diameter, LUBE the shaft before putting it together, if you tear that VAC pump seal you'll be taking it off too.
