Default ABS and Brake light stuck on

I have an 01 4x4. I took an 20,000lbs from Southern Cal to East New Mexico. I parked my truck over night in 5 degree weather. When I started it the next morning my ABS and brake light were stuck on. I checked every wire I could find connected to the braking system and the brake fluid. Is there a particular sensor or item I should be checking out or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Check the sensors at the front wheels make sure they are plugged in and no broken wires there. And the rear sensor is in the rear diff but if you speedo is working ok then this one is most likely ok. Thats all i can think of off the top sorry not a great big help but maybe someone else will getin here that might have a better idea good luck

I forgot to mention........I am pretty sure with the abs you can disconnect the batteries for a sec to clear codes if it was just a fluke that happend and not a hard fault might just fix your problem could try that and see what happens.

There is a little sensor down under the brake pedal. When you push it in it activates your brake lights. Mine was sticking before and almost drove me crazy. Theres a little bushing/shim thing that wears out i guess. Maybe your problem i dunno just somthing that happened to mine

Lights work fine. I pulled the battery cables and let it sit for an hour with no success. I was reading in my Chiltions it says that there are 8 possobilies for the light to stay on and the only way to find out what it is, is to use a mechanics code reader. The normal autozone reader will not show what is wrong with it.

Thats the kinda nice thing about abs problems there isnt too many codes for them and are pretty stright forward to diagnose. Well sorry that didnt work for you was hoping that it might have been just a glitch in the system to set the light. Another thing is the brake fluid level full?

obdIII is the only reader that can access the cab system that controls the brakes and abs. I have had both lights on since I bought mine. It stops fine, I am not worried yet
