Default 2nd. gen auto to manual swap

I finished the 47RE auto. to NV5600 6 speed swap in my 01 Ram 2500 on Fri. Heres a summary for anyone wanting to do a similar swap.
I got a clutch from Tony at Mighty Diesel. It included a new flywheel and the hydraulics. You will need to install a spacer between the starter and the flywheel housing. I got the spacer with the trans. The stock bellhousing bolts will work with the manual trans. I also got clutch and brake pedals with the trans. These are easy to install. Remove the pin from the stock brake pedal and install the new clutch and brake pedals with the same pin. You will also need a new brake light switch. These are not reuseable and I got mine from the dodge stealership for $27.00. I also got the firewall retainer with the manual trans for the hydraulics. I had to use 2 rubber washers on the hydraulics to keep it from poping out of the retainer. There is a plastic/rubber block off plate where the hydraulics go through the firewall were I had run the wiring for my gauges and chip. I relocated the wiring to a new hole. The hardest part for me was tracking down a manual trans. I got my NV5600 from Balsley Auto. in Normalville, Pa. Jim is a decent guy and is very helpful and knowledgeable in doing these swaps. The splines are different of the transfer case input between auto and manual trucks so you will either need to change the input on the t-case or get a t-case for a manual trans.
I've got to get back to work so I will finish this later.

I got about $5000.00 tied up in this swap and after pricing aftermarket built auto's this seemed like a no brainer to me. I dont think there are anymore "new" NV5600's how ever there seems to be alot of reman ones on ebay.
Because my NV5600 came out of an 05 Ram it had a 3rd. gen style trans. mount on it so I had to enlarge the holes in my crossmember. I got a front drive shaft with my trans. and it was about 5" longer than the on from the auto trans. I had the rear drive shaft shortened 5". You will also need to cut a hole in the floor and I got the factory style center console and cubby hole to replace the cup holders. The vacuum lines for the transfer case also need to be extended. 8' of vacuum hose cost me $3.00 from the local auto parts store. I did this swap in a gravel parking lot using hand tools and working on it off and on it took me about a 10 days between disassembly, waiting for parts and assembly. The only issue I have so far is that when i first start the truck it wont rev above 2000 rpm's until i go through all 6 gears then its fine and it runs normal. I also hooked up a push button starter because with the stock computers the truck wont start w/ the key. Thats all i can think of for now and if anyone has questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

from what i was told you have to shorten the driveshaft no matter what because the nv5600 is a lot bigger than the auto. if you go with a nv4500 then the drive shaft needs lengthened

My buddy has a similar truck and did an auto to NV4500 swap and his driveshafts bolted right up. I think changing the computers would fix the problem but I would need computers out of a truck with the same options. I kinda like the push button start.
