There's a thread on Dodge Offroad that a guy is swapping an NV4500 into his '98. I imagine it would still be helpful.

The successful, easy swaps that I've heard of involved buying a wrecked donor truck.

I have this condition, where I perceive OEM parts as insufficient and in need of aftermarket replacement; maybe that mindset just stems from the domestic vehicles that I've owned.

Does anyone currently running an NV5600 have any issues with them? A friend is trying to talk me into swapping in a G56 instead and says that the NV5600 have issues with sycronizers and that parts are scarce.

I guess it all depends on your driving habits/style. At this point i'll take whatever i can get my hands on just to get the truck back on the road.

nv4500's and nv5600's arnt know to have the greatest syncros. drag racing (power shifting), and cluchless shifting is murder on syncros. mine are shot now and im looking to do either a g56 or an auto.
