Default Truck has been surging any solutions.

So I had some surging issues. What i mean by surging is that the truck boost low around one psi than goes to 5 on highway driving while in cruise is activated. I went on a 800 mile round trip this weekend and it did this horrible, but it only started doining it around the 300 mile mark / 5 hours of driving it is the worst it has ever done it i was traveling 75mph and it would boost for 8 than jump to 15psi while on flat ground. I thought that maybe it was since i had the cruise on but i would do it while my foot was on the gas and i was keeping it at a constant speed. It killed my mileage really bad. I only got 16 or 17 when i should of got 19-20. On the way back it did the same thing around the same time about 100 miles from home i was going 62 mph and it would boost form around 2 or 3 to 7 psi.. I know it is not the quadzilla tune i have because i just changed it because i thought that was the problem.. Has any other people had this problem??? Does anyone know why it is doing it??

Thanks Brad -

Do you have the Pulse with your ADR? If so you can tune the surging out. -

You need to get an idea of the fuel pressure while it is surging. Changed the Fuel Filter lately? -

Had a thought on this what about intercooler leaks? I just got back from the hardware store and fitted me up some plugs for the boots on the intercooler one end with a valve stem for charging with air and the other capped off and press it up to about 20psi and check for leaks. the pvc fitting cost about $6 so its worth a try and fixin air leaks in the intercooler can't hurt either ill give it a shot see what happens will let you know when i get it done. will try to post pics of my set up too -

Well i am not sure how my fuel pressure is... I have a glowshift fuel pressure gauge and am tired of buying sending units for it. And once again it went out so i am saving up for a mechanical gauge.I am pretty sure that i have good fuel pressure. I also just replace the fuel filter on it.I have the Recon monitor with my Adr. I always run on 2 since i feel it get the best fuel economy but it did the same thing when i put it on tune 00... The only thing i did to the truck was replace the exhaust manifold, but it did it prior to this as well. Also it only did it when i was almost there.. Could it be a heat issue??? IDk.. -

I have the same surging problem and fuel pressure does not change. Did the APPS reset and seemed to make it worse so I'm thinking that the APPS is on it's way out. -

I did the same reset the apps and nothin doin while i had it apart i "swept the apps with a dvom and didnt see any voltage drops stayed steady all the way through. seems to do it more when hot for me anyway idk the apps are around 250-300 from napa if i remember right. I was going to get one, thought it was going to be the same as a gasser tps 50-60 so i would just throw one on priced it and decided no not yet till i confirm the prob so IDK what to do either. -
