Default So Who Can Solve This Mystery

My trucks runnin fine but it's not right and we can't figure out why.

*The EGT's are runnin higher then normal.
*The Boost is runnin higher then normal at cruising speeds.
*MPG have dropped off a little bit.
*Absolutely no smoke on take off even with Drag Comp on 5X5.
*No smoke during spool up but a slight puff at the high end.

As I said the trucks runnin fine and pulls any load I hook it up to, just workin harder to do it then it used to. I just had the RV275 injectors rebuilt attempting to fix this and that had no affect.

APPS calibration? is there any residual drag that you can notice like a caliper dragging bad? fuel filters ok? fuel pressure ok? anything clogging the tailpipe like an old cat or squirrel or 4?

Nope, I've tried different settings and nothin of any significance changes.

Once in a while I get the check engine lite and two codes pop up every time. P2037 MAP Sensor Voltage and P0602 Fueling calibration. If I clear them they stay clear for weeks at a time but come back randomly.

Less then 50,000 miles ago.

I have re calibrated the APPS once already but I guess I need to check it again. Fuel filter is changed regularly and fuel pressure never leaves 16psi. Haven't smelled anything burnin like a squirrel in the pipe but who knows.

not sure if this will help.

had a guy come in once claiming the same thing, we were baffled for about a month, one day we decided for some resone to take the head off, there was alot of drag on the piston from the piston rings, there was alot of carbon and suit build up that looked like that what was causing that issue, we cleaned the holes and threw in new rings, that is what cleared his problem.

hope this helps

was just thinking as well what could also cause this

bad oil temp sensor or water sensor

Check the connections for your Comp. You throwing a MAP sensor code makes me lean towards needing a new MAP.

You need a new map sensor, cleaning them helps. But you still have a code that comes back.Did you scan for any pending codes, after you drive it for a while.

Once I clear the codes they stay gone for the random amounts of time. Sometimes day's, weeks or even months between them before they come back. I've tried to find a pattern and so far no luck on that.

I will say though that after pulling heavy loads it takes a long time before the check engine light comes back on. I always wondered if the workout helped clean things out some.

If codes come and go, send the Comp box in and have them replace the circuit board, happens all the time.

Uncle Bubba FYI when ever mine set a code on the truck,I had to unplug the comp box were the map sensor is and plug the original wiring harness in to reset codes.I would try and run the truck without the box.Smokem is right my 02 was hay wire there for a while and the box was bad.Was up CumminsMech buddy.
