Thanks for the reply. I pulled the module to replace sending unit and to clean the screen but as I was removing the screen it stuck and ripped the inside screen and they don't sell that cap with the screen , only the whole module........ For over 500$ . If I can't find a affordable fix I will just use it without that inside screen and change the inline filter every two or three months.

That will work ok most guys are just running a straw in the tank or a sump kit installed in the bottom of the tank. Most people run a good aftermarket lift pump like Fass or Airdog that has 3-5 micron filtration anyway.
It is interesting to note that some of the years between 1998.5 - 2001 have an electric pump in the tank module. Some say it was added later on as a (band-aid) way to help a already weak lift pump system on the block. Not sure if Dodge was doing this or maybe after market mine had one in it.

Is there a kit for the straw ? How do you do that ? Yes I think they changed in mid production. Mine was mounted on engine and has been replaced with a FASS

Anyone actually changed the sending unit on a 2001 ? Looks like it must snap in , there are no screws to remove and I can`t see how to disconnect the wires also . Anyone know how to do it ?

Yes I can see the screws for removal on yours but mine doesn`t have any screws . I`m sure it just snaps in but I don`t want to go prying on it without knowing how it should come apart

That sucks do you have a picture of yours?
You can get a draw straw from most vendors mine cam from Airdog. here's how it mounts in. A lot of people are doing the sump kit so they don't have to drop the tank. I really don't want a fuel line hanging down under the tank IMO.

Cut a hole and install the grommet

I did goggle the straw draw and the sump and they are options to buying the expensive module but I still need to replace the sending unit because it is not working . I will try to get a picture today and maybe you will know a way it comes out , if I can post a picture .
