Default Power steering issue

Ok so I know there are tons of threads on this all over the Internet but I want to explain my exact problem cus I always hunt for answers but most of the time no one ever posts they're fixes anyways I put a new power steering pump on the other day because the old one was leaking and at idle I had no power steering well I put the new pump in and everything was working great than today went and drove it and got off the highway after about 70 miles and realized the brakes were really stiff and there was 0 power steering at idle so I came home and tried to bleed the air out of it thinking that maybe it still had air in it and that didn't fix it well than I flushed it thinking it had some crap in there and still didn't fix it where do I go from here? Is it my hydro booster? Or did I just get a junk pump or did I screw the pump up by not flushing it, like I said I still have power steering when I'm moving but at idle there is nothing

Does the power steering pump you purchased match the diesel application?
Or did the parts guy just give you one for a v-8.
Also did the pump come with the pulley on it is it the same diameter as your old one?

It's the diesel one because they first gave me one for the v8 but it's definitely the right pump and these power steering pumps don't have pulleys they go into the vacuum pump

what kind of condition are the drive lugs on the vacuum pump to PS pump?
Maybe some air still trapped is it noisy?

Ok so here is an update I replaced the power steering pump again with another new one didn't fix it so replaced the hydro booster brakes feel great and power steering feels great except I still can't do full turns at idle so I flushed the system again and still have no power steering at idle could it be my tires are to big for the pump? I'm running 36/12.50/17s

Set your self up some grease plates and pull the truck onto them and try it.
