Default What is wrong with my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500?

I have 2001 dodge ram 2500. When I start my truck white smoke comes out that stinks bad and stings my eyes. It also revs up kinda like a heart beat as soon as I start I up. Also it has no power after being started. I accelerate and it goes nowhere. Then after about 10 mins it will have a little power and only go about 5mph. After about 15-20 mins itll have more power and i am able to drive fine all day. But ocassionally losing power every 10 mins of driving or so. Wastegate is not moving when I hit the throttle I noticed. Anyone know what is going on?

Does the smoke smell like fuel or maybe antifreeze could be a head gasket or maybe a vp going bad

I'm at the car shop right now. He says its the fuel injector. When he tested it, it said fuel injector failure. How much should that typically cost? He quoted me 1800.

$1800? to replace an injector? WOW that's steep. I could possibly see if you got all replaced with up rated injectors but for 1 or 2 that's high.

If you replace one injector I would go ahead and replace all of them and 1800 is damn high. Injectors for a 24v (set of six) shouldn't even be over 800 dollars and it takes less than 2 hours to install them if you know what your doing.

I have been fighting this same exact thing for the last 3 months . I mean the exact symptoms. I have injectors coming today , sump for the tank , exhaust 4" , pump , and I'm hoping that it will help mine . I have 300,000 on it , looking to get at least that many more out of it . It is a real truck . Mine runs fine after it warms up , my only concern(s) are the smoke , mine smells like diesel fuel , and the dead pedal sometimes. Mine is stock 01 4x4 auto 35's and lots of plumbing stuff.
