Default turbo upgrade

I'm looking at putting a new turbo on my engine. I have a hy35 on it now. All the more I want to build it is a turbo and about 125 to 150 injectors. What would be a good turbo to install without having to do head work and be on a budget. the other mods I've done is in my signature.

probably be best so stick with 125hp injectors unless you feel like upgrading your lift pump again...100GPH isn't going to cut it with 7x.010s for injectors... 7x.009's are going to pull your fuel pressure down pretty hard...

so I'll give you two options...you can go with other choices too, but they are just ideas..

option 1: keep current lift pump and go with 7x.009 injectors and a HE351cw turbo or a HE351VE + fleece controller (VGT)

option 2: upgrade to a 150GPH lift pump and go with 7x.010 injectors and a 62/71/14 or 63/68/14 turbo which will break 500hp with a decent wiretap fueling box.

Any idea where to get a good turbo on a budget though? I was looking at some of the ebay specials on turbos for a couple hundred bucks but don't know if I trust them or not.

Don't waste your money on those Chinese turbos. Save your money and get a name brand turbo that will last. It'll be worth the wait.
Don't ask me how I know. Lol

on a budget: check the cumminsforum classifieds for a used turbo...most of the guys over there get the power bug and can't leave well enough alone and upgrade, or they get tired of running a single and switch to twins and sell their single, or they are going back to stock and selling their truck so they sell their mods in the classifieds... good place to pick up a good used turbo...

might also hit up jacob from DAP... I believe he sometimes buys and does partial trades on used turbos and fueling boxes and he may have something decent in stock... if not he can probably get you a good deal on a BW box turbo. as for HE351ve and he351cw....ebay is riddled with them.

no. sticks first and turn your fueling box down.

if you have a j-hook on your hy and your fueling box set to economy mode, as long as you don't go flooring it everywhere, the turbo will be fine till you can get a bigger turbo on there...
