360 to cummins swap
Ive searched around but can find anything. I have a 99 dodge ram 3500(dually flatbed) 360 5 speed 4wd but the engine is smoking. but I wanna keep the truck cause its a very good truck. My thoughts are a 91 5.9 ctd swap but want to know what all ill actually need to do this swap. Wiring? Trans? Fuel system ?.. Id appreciate any help and no im not gonna just sell it for a diesel.

fuel system, and need to adapt wiring to the shutoff solenoid and grid heater. so you may need the PCM from the 91 to operate the grid heater for winter starts.
you're also going to need the diesel springs for up front as the motor greatly outweighs your 360.
if you plan on building any power from the motor, then you need to make sure you have the NV4500HD, NP241DHD, and at minimum a D70 rear. D80 isn't really necessary for a first gen cummins engine unless you swap injection pumps to a p7100...then you need a dana 80.
