Default Surging

okay about 6 months my truck started to surge and i ended replacing the batteries and it solved that problem. now a few weeks ago its back again. it only does it when im just accelarting normally or driving normally right around where it starts to shift up or down a gear. my fuel pressure gauge is broken and should be getting the new one in the mail anytime soon but can someone tell me what is going on?!?!

if it feels like almost a hopping feeling I would say maybe the torque converter

It sounds like your truck is 4th gear hunting.my 99 did that get on facebook and ask matt bozarth at ATS DIESEL how to do the bypass on it.

see i really think its the torque converter, and my reasoning is because i change out my fuel filter every 2 months and after i change it, it has no problem pushing air out when i crack the no. 1 injection line and then quickly spitting fuel out right out.

I cleaned the map sensor and put a new lift pump on mine and it solved my surging problem.
