Default Suspension questions....

I am looking to jack up my 1999 dodge 2500 and would love to ask someone some questions that has already done this.. If anyone has tackled any type of suspension lift, what would be things you would do different?? How high do you need to go for how big of tires?? etc etc.. I am thinking of running 38 boggers how tall of a lift would I need for that?? and any other mods to expect?? Thank you all

I had a 6" lift and 37x13.50s on mine. It would rub when turning full lock so I would say you want to go a little taller than 6". One thing you definitly want is adjustable control arms so you can set the pinion angle. If you tow much I would suggest not lifting it. I use my truck to tow my Jeep around to off road parks and I did not like my lift when towing. When the tires wore out I took my lift off and returned it to stock height. Just something for you to think about.

I haven't put a lift on, only a leveling kit so I can't help you too much there. But I do know that I lot of people just do the leveling kit in the front as it is inexpensive, simple and can clear 35" nicely. Truck still tows like a champ too.

My truck has a 6" lift had 35s when I bought it wish it was stock height or maybe a leveling kit 3.54s and 35s suck when towing heavy. I have to put 265s on when I hook up 15k plus. It can do it but doesn't like it. The power difference is crazy switching between the two.

K so I am going to try this route so anyone go ahead and tell me whats wrong with this before I pull out my tools!! I have a 3inch bds suspension lift, and am thinking 2 or 3 inch bodylift to get some 37 or 38s under my 99 cummins....

no im about to though, my buddy has an 01 we did it to beefs the front end right up exspecially with the 03 up trac bar relocating kit steers better than factory the only reason i havnt put mine in yet is im getting orders to sc so im moving next month just no time. With the 99 you might have to buy a special tapered reamer for the tie rod bolt holes and pitman arm my 00 is already a bit bigger so it bolts right up nothing crazy just a couple minutes and dollars for the reamer more the kit gives you beefy drag ling and tie rod for like 260 bucks
