Grandpa dropped my engine need input
OK so I have been rebuilding this 24v for 2 months. I was litterally going to drop it in the truck today and I get to looking at it and its smashed well come to find out my grandpa termed moving it with the fork lift and didn't check the chains and it fell. Needless to say I don't know if I need to worry about the damages or replace the front gear housing and oil pan. This is actually the 2nd time he has done this but luckely the first time wasn't bad. It did more damage to the concrete then it did the engine

I am going to say the housing and oil pan. The pan could probably be knocked out but that crease in the front above the dent is worrisome. The only worries I would have as far as the main engine goes is the oil pick up. Make sure it is not damaged. How far did it fall? You need to keep grandpa away from the forklift!!!! And anything heavy for that matter.

You don't need to worry about oil pickup that's the least of your worries. my father ran over a boulder in Colorado and pushed the bottom of the oil pan up by more than 5 inches and still drove it home with no oil problems. I would say the housing is a for sure! you should still pull the oil pan to make sure everythings ok!
