Default 2002 auto with blown motor swap 1990 motor and 5 spd

I had a 1990 cummins with a 5spd that needed more work than it was worth. Bought a 2002 cummins auto. The motor was built up to over 500 Hp but didn't hold and the guy lost interest or his Dad ran out of $$. The trans was built to handle the power. I'm planning to put the motor and trans out of the 1990 into the 2002. If you have experience with this kind of swap I'm interested in hearing what you have learned.

Thanks for any imput

it should be an easy swap. Just put it in like your were putting it in a chevy chassis or such. You would have to figure out the sensors for the guages and such. SInce I am 90% sure the guages are run into the ECM, then to the dash. unless you find thatstuff from like a 98.5 and down. since they are factory 12v and no electronics like the 02.

So is the 02 4wd or 2wd. If it had a built trans, what going to happen with it?

Thanks Barry B, It's a 2 WD.

I need to find out what kind of a job it is to change add the clutch because then I don't need to worry about the electric shifting actuator for the auto.

If I don't use the auto I'm planning to sell it

That shouldn't be to bad to do. Find a manual truck and get the pedals from it. Doesn't have to be a diesel truck for that.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Is the 90 a hydro cluch linkage? If so, Then that shouldnt be real bad .

Hi Barry,
It's a Hydro Clutch. I need to get to the salvage yard to find the pedals. I just realized yesterday the motor mounts will need to be modified to fit. Does anyone have a suggestion??
