Default Hoping it's not my VP44...Help!!!

Hello, I currently own a 1999 2500 24 valve and just recently it has had a starting problem. It cranks, but wont start. Ive checked my lines from the lift pump to the injector pump and have good amounts of fuel coming out. I crack lines 1, 3, and 5 from the motor and have someone start it and only little fuel comes out. I have the diablosport power puck which plugs directly into the vp44. From what ive read so far it can be a number of things which could lead to a no start. I have no fuel pressure gauges or anything like that, and all my pumps are stock. any help would be greatly appreciated to get my beast back on the road.

You may want to get a scanner and check your codes it sounds like your injection pump may be on its way out if it isn't already.

These are a list of the most common codes condemning your VP44:
P0216 (often referred to as the code of death and most common code for VP44 pump failure)
P1688
P1689
P0215
P0251 - P0260

Im having a friend come over with a decent scanner to look for embeded codes. I also have not tried to start the truck without the powerpuck plugged in so I'll try that as well. As for all those codes...Ill keep them in mind, Im just praying and I mean PRAYING it's some dumb sensor. Thanks for the replies guys.

Get a fuel pressure gauge! Chances are if you have a good amount of fuel up to the vp and very little coming out of the lines then its prob a dead vp.

Yea I'd say you need a new VP. On the bright side they arn't bad to change and saves you a couple bucks.

Replaced mine myself and works fine also replaced the injectors at the same time. I think the price has also gone down some on the pumps.
