Default Convince me to do cab lights

Hey guys,

Well I got a raise from my job so I can afford more stuff. Id like to do cab lights but out of all the articles I have read Im still scared to even attempt it. So I wanna see if you guys can convince me to drill holes in my truck. For you guys that have done this can you tell me what bits and hole saw size I need? thanks guys.

Pull down the headliner in the front. You will see holes in the cab framing where lights should go. Drill 1/8" holes up through the middle of the large holes in framing. The. Get on top and drill down larger holes. Around half inch. I used a dial caliper to measure the size of the wire connector and used just a bit bigger bit. I used the Recon LED cab light set. Came with a harness. One screw in the cab frame for ground and a tap connector on the wire on the back of the headlight switch. Position lights and drill mounting screw holes using lights as a guide. Use pleanty of silicone caulk in screw holes and wire holes. Screw down the lights and replace headliner.

Did mine about a month ago.

I can't help convince you, sorry. I don't like cab lights.

Cab lights increase your chances of a leaky roof, just saying.

I have the Lund Moonvisor with lights in it, only 4 small holes in cab, less chances of leaks, plus it helps keep the sun out of my eyes. The screws that come with the visor come with wax on them I think wax holds up better than caulk because caulk tends to crack after a few years.

If you know what you are doing and arent scared you can do cab lights. This is on a 3rd gen so a little bit more work but same concept.
