Default no wait to start light

A few days ago when I got in my truck I noticed that my wait to start light was not coming on.
It starts and runs just fine but it is starting to get cold in the mornings and i do not want to have any problems. Even during the summer in 100 degree temp the light always came on even if it was only for a few seconds. I know it is not the bulb, I checked that . Does anybody have any ideas ? Please help

Could be a bad Preheater or relay, Im not sure where the preheater relay sits.

i swapped out the fuel heater relay for the trailer relay just to see if that was the problem but still nothing. not sure if thats the relay that your refering to but i had read in an other post that was the one. could be wrong though.

Sorry for the disappear act, if you have an amp meter, underneath the intake horn is the air heaters check the amperage for that and see if they are being turned on, if not then you have an issue with the preheater or the relay should be aorund 120 to 16o amps

I do not have a meter but this morning when i went to start my truck it was a little cold outside, still no light but what i did notice was that right after i started it the voltage was pretty low which would tell me that the preheater is working. Am i wrong ?

Not sure if this will help but when my light goes off in the morning i hear a faint clicking noise like the relay is clicking off.

thanks shellinger, i can still hear the faint clicking noise like your describing. One thing that I did notice though is that the airdog does not come one when i turn the key over into the on position like it used to.

Yea you should see your voltage drop when its being used and then after it goes off it will slowly come back up at least on my truck it does..

If you want to pull your batt cables and wait 10 minutes put them back on and see if the ecm is just giving that light fits.. other wise you proably just have a wire issue.
