Default Urgent please help

I was driveing down the highway and something just let go,its like it just droped outta gear or something?? Does anyone have any ideas? Is my tranny done ?? I wasnt romppin on it or nothin? Please help.

Will it go into any gear at all? Reverse,1,2 ?

Check your linkage and fluid see if it smells burnt or any metal shavings.

So many things it could be. Input shaft, T/C to flex plate bolts, oil pump, low oil. As suggested above, check the fluid level. It will be high if any of the above happened. You can remove the inspection plate and look up there for signs of failures. The T/C shouldn't rotate freely of the engine.

I kinda had an issue like this. Ended up being the shifting fork in the t case. Rebuilt it and all was well, I put it in 4wd and it drove went like a mile put it back in 2wd and it got me home enough to take it apart and try it again. Hope this will narrow it down

Checked levels,,looked low so i put some in andnothing still not sure if i put enough in tho,,oil doesnt smell burnt looked good..if i didnt use atf4 would that wreck it iused oil that said it was good for allision trans?
