Hey, Is there anyway to tell if the t.c is slipping or if the clutches/bands are slipping? Also it will not lock the converter unless I flick the lockup switch. And I adjusted both bands, new filter, with 6.5qts of +4 and now at very light throttle in 1st/2nd it bucks rapidly in and out of gear if i throttle into it, it goes away. Fluid is right on the line when hot. Doesn't look or smell burnt and trans never sees over 200 degrees. Also it used to do the bucking thing when cold once in a while, now it does it hot and cold all the time...

your telling me. cant afford it right now, and ive been looking high and low for a 5spd donor truck. but for now i gotta make this slushbox last. whats the best trans slip additive? lucas? also the dip stick was reading full hot in neutral when it was bucking, so for the hell of it i added another half quart and it went away. now i just gotta figure out the t.c not locking up by its self, and need to know a good additive to run.

When my stock tranny was going out I tried that lucas stuff. Didn't help one bit but for your torque converter you can put in a torque converter lock-up switch. I did and like it and it only cost 6 dollars to do it. The only thing is that they tell you not to use it on a stock tranny. Write a private message to RAWilliams and ask him if you should run it. He is the one that told me about it.

It's had a lock up switch since I bought it from the last guy. I use it all the time. 3rd locked up is pretty solid. Slips in o/d
