i had same issue with mjy six spd 5.9 ho cummins i used a gate valve in line of the acuator hose to close it off i cut it off to make about 40 psi fast but it would even out if i stayed on it long. i had a lot of egts like 1500 to 1700 with peddle to the floor with no trailer on flat ground. i went with a 351 vgt turbo it cost 400 for turbo and manifold and 500 for the program to run it. so 900 total. it is great. it spools faster than the stock one but will open up to be more 26 cm exhaust housing to let out all the heat. were yours is a 12 cm. i now see 1100 at max with the pedle smashed to the floor trailer or not it just will not over heat like the hx 35 i had.
