May be you have weak batteries get those checked can you hear the starter solenoid clicking, if it is I bet your batteries are in need of a charge, and whats the volt meter say on the guage cluster if its below the normal range the truck wont turn over or will barley turn over... Of you batts are good then started may be bad...

yea i figured it out. when i bought the truck it had a small little blue switch kinda on the right hand side of the stearing wheel under the dash a bit. could never figure out what it was for. so i was messing with it the other day. so what it does is diconects the starter. thats all it does. so i realized that and just turned it the other way. and it started up fine. NOW im curious as to WHY???

Well, since it's the little blue toggle switch, I guess you have your answer.
Otherwise, it would be the starter **** the bed. Real common on these diesels. Way too common. I've had 3 of these trucks, and had to put a starter in all 3 of them. Stupid things work fine, then out of the blue - nothing. Usually you can crawl under the truck with a screwdriver and a hammer, with the key on in the run position, while shorting across the starter/solenoid terminal, you give the starter some light taps and Vroom! She fires right up. You might get 50 more starts trouble free after that, or you might get none. Had it happen both ways. Had to change a starter out in the friggen parking lot at the parts store once, as I went to buy a starter, stupidly shut the truck off, and then couldn't get her to crank again. They made out like bandits, b/c not only did they sell me a starter, but they sold me a bunch of tools that I needed to do the job as well. Yeay rah.
