I thought it was 1992, but I got a new truck thats making me question this. Its an old man owned clubcab d250 with a 518 auto with a 7-91 build date. Here's what has me stumped... It had the two spoke steering wheel like the older ones, 91.5 wiring harness, check engine light like the 92-93 trucks,21 cm housing. The title and vin say its a 91. Did they make club cabs in 91 or is my vin wrong? Everyone says 92 is the first year for them.

your truck is the 92 modle year, and they made club cabs all of the way back in the 70s, but im not sure if they offered the club cab with the cummins, seems ive heard where they didnt because the driveline was too long and had problems with breaking

 

sounds like a mid year change to me. I would guess at the tailend of 91 beginning of 92 year model. Maybe it was a special order.

 

Late 70's whenever they switched grille styles.

 

When did DODGE run the Diesel What year?

 

1989 was the first year of the cummins, they ran a different diesel sometime before that

 

dodge never had a diesel pick up until 1989. the first year of the club cab (ext cab) was 1991.5, your truck is a 1991.5 but it says 1991 as a vehicle I.D number so they can fit the mandatory 17 digits in the VIN number.

 

dodge did have a diesel pickup before 1989 it just wasn't a cummins and it was only for one year.

 

They came with a Nissan diesel before Cummins.
