anyone know if there is a way to make the getrag a tougher tranny. (besides the whole dont lug it overfill it deal). im looking for internal parts. im tires of everyone raggin on it tellin me it wont handle the power. so what can ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Default how to beef up a getrag

anyone know if there is a way to make the getrag a tougher tranny. (besides the whole dont lug it overfill it deal). im looking for internal parts. im tires of everyone raggin on it tellin me it wont handle the power.

so what can you do to these to make them beefier. is there a good rebuild kit that anyone knows of or anything?

tltruckparts's Sig:1995 Chevy K2500, 1993 Cummins P Pumped 12 valve Turbo Diesel IC, Getrag 5 speed w/ southbend clutch, NP205 Transfercase, SAS w/ GM Dana 60 front, AAM 11.5 rear, BFG MT 35's. SDX 5x14 injectors, PhatShaft 62, airdog II 165, Autometer EGT, Boost, & Fuel Pressure, hydraulic steering. and a few moore goodies

The Getrag is just as strong (if not stronger) then teh NV4500 when over filled. The hard parts wont give you much issue, let the nay sayers about the getrag roll off your back... They are kinda like the guys that say a VE wont make over 300HP...

KTA put over 650hp down with a getrag and he races it....

cool. the transmission was just rebuilt, but sometimes it sticks trying to come out of 4th and 5th gear. the guy who gave the truck to me said its in the shift tower not in the lower end?

anyone ever hear of this or know how to fix it more importantly? thanks

how do you overfill it? where do you go in from to put that xtra quart in?

100 Fuel Plate ff, Silencer Ring Removed, bhaf, AFC Tuned, Boost Elbow
3" exhaust with aereo turbine muffler, stage 2 75hp injectors
Boost & Pyro Meter Gauges, Automatic with low stall converter & Shift Kit
kdp killed, timing 15.5* 3kGSK

not to be an ass or anything but look around a little bit this thread was on the next page and this goes for everyone even me. i have noticed that there is alot of the same questions asked over and over when the answer is right there on another page utilise the search button and look around help keep the boards uncluttered
