Default Captain's Chair tilt feature: broken

In my '93, my passenger's seat back no longer locks in place; the adjuster lever will spring into the adjust location but never really latches back in place. You can push the seat back from fore to aft(reclined) and it feels like it's grinding/skipping over gear cogs.

So...anyone know what it involves to fix that?

Found it, the geared 'wheel' that the latch catches on is stripped. They're all worn down by about half way and then there are a couple of the teeth that are completely broken off. If dodge doesn't have things like coolant reservoirs and other essential cab items, what are my options for fixing my seat?

You know I ain't skeered to just weld it but I'd rather fix it and retain the tilting feature...

could get handy with a dremel and put afew strategically placed tack welds to hold it at certain points... you'll have some adjustability but just not as many options. is it the gear or is it the paw that locks it that's worn out? it looks like theres still a wee bit of meat on it... may be enough that some revamping of the paw could solve the problem too

Junk yard. Is the gear worn all the way around? Can you remove the gear and rotate it to a "clean" spot?

I didn't take the gear out to see if there are more teeth on the other side of it. So I also couldn't see if the paw was worn or not. Most of the wear looks like it's on the gear, the teeth are all down below 50%.

Crap, I have a hard enough time finding 1st gens in junk yards around here, let alone one with buckets.
