I have the shop across the street from my work getting a motor turbo etc. sounds like we can be around 20k. It is a lot of money, but i'm going to be daily driving this thing, and the truck has sentimental value as well. I am going to stick with the getrag 5 speed for now. It was rebuilt not all that long ago. I figure when it does go i'll find a G56 to pop under there. 400 horses at 13's!? thats why I love these trucks.
I should have the shops quote by this afternoon. Not sure if we are going compounds or single turbo. i asked for a south bend dual disk clutch. With the holidays coming on i will have a few days off and hopefully get some things accomplished!
Still trying to figure out the stereo situation. I want a dual din with back up cam etc. I have seen one other truck with it installed without completely redoing the whole dash. Any of you have a dual din?

This is a quote from BC847

"My mess is fairly quick for what it is.
'93 W250 Clubcab @ 6400lbs. 12mm VE, 6x.016 EDMs, S362/HT3B, A518

At 15' elevation (10/22/10):
1.69 60'
5.09 330'
8.01 1/8 @ 83.44
12.81 1/4 @ 101.11"

Just a heads up if you buy a new clutch for the getrag that same clutch won't work with the g56. Unless you can send it back and they can modify it to accept the larger input shaft of the g56.

Wow and getting 18 MPG? or is your sig a different truck? Thats impressive.
I am hoping that getrag will hold up for a while. We had it beefed up (hopefully true) not all that long ago.
just talked to the shop and they are finalizing a few things. Had them throw on an ex. brake and 4" straight piped out the back. I'll find out later what turbo(s) they have and what they are setting me up with

That is another guys truck. The truck in my sig hasn't seen the dyno or a track.

What did they claim they did to beef it up?

If you want to talk to a guy who is very knowledgeable about these trucks with tuning and performance parts, pm me and i'll give you his number. He'll be able to guide you to your power goals a lot better than I can.

He also sells every part you'd want for your 1st gen. But I think it'd be good to get a second opinion from someone who works a lot with 1st gens and compare it with your shops opinions.

Thanks for the information dan! If i hit a snag i'll shoot you a PM. i got all of the plastics out of the truck today and cleaned up and shot with paint. Went from brown to black with a charcol grey finish! stereo system and lift kit should be here tomorrow! unfortunatly not all of the lift will be here due to a damaged box, so that will wait until the truck is back with a new motor. It goes in on Monday. I'm trying to find aftermarket black seat belts or grey that don't cost an arm and a leg. Gonna hit the junkyard tomorrow to see what i find. If i can find seat belts then i'll just get the stock captains chairs reupholstered and won't have to mess with seat mounts. Now i gotta order carpet, and find a decent upholstery guy... anyone know of anyone in southern Colorado?

Your pics aren't working unfortunately, can't see them.

Use the "direct" link on photobucket and paste the url in the photo adder button
