Default Odometer doesn't work?

Ok so I just got my 1990 d250 on the road... 5.9l cummins with the getrag 5 speed... After driving for a while I noticed that my odometer doesn't spin and neither does the trip but the speedo works fine... Anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

Problem inside the speedo head it's electronic. I have one sitting on the shelf that has same problem. I replaced my speedo from a junkyard donor that was cheap. Look around it is easy to change out.

Is it an electrical problem or mechanical? I spoke to my buddy he said it's a stripped out gear in the cluster and I found a thing on YouTube telling how to change it but my problem now is there's only 1 first gen in the junkyard by me and the clusters gone... Here's the link to the YouTube post http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rVHSufDAzRo

I watched the video, I don't think that is the same speedo that is in my 90 looks like a later model. Heck take it apart you can't hurt it it's already broke. But if it is a gear where would you find a new one? I get the "Deer in the headlight stare" at the local Dodge dealer here (Tucson) when trying to find parts for my truck. It's as old as the parts guy..........

When I get home I'll check out the one I have and get back to you.

I don't know if my 90 looks like that because I haven't taken mind apart yet but I was at the junk yard yesterday and saw a 89 cummins with it but I saw a 90 gasser with a different one...
