Starting and Overdrive issue related?
1992 Dodge D250. Occasionally my truck fails to start. I usually go in and tap the starter relay or nudge the wire bundle by the relay and it will start up.
I bought the truck off my uncle. He put in a fusible link in the wires a while ago to trying to fix this same problem until he discovered that his 'fix' really didn't work. He did discover the tapping trick though.
Another issue I have is that sometimes on the freeway my overdrive quits. Reading around this appears to be a TPS issue. I am wondering if anyone has had similar issues?
Looking in the truck manual on a electrical diagram I noticed the overdrive solenoid is downstream of the ignition switch so I am thinking they might be related? Unfortunately I am zero when it comes to troubleshooting electrical system issues.
Has anyone ever heard of anything similar? Thanks
