Default governor spring

I'm looking to install the 3200 rpm spring in my truck, I'm 17 years old and have little knowledge on how the pump works, is this something I can do or should I take it to a shop?

You can do it. Don't rush, make sure to mark the fuel screw so you know where it was set, and take it out until after pump top is reinstalled to keep from damaging the pump. Note where the throttle index is before you take it off. And again take your time. The 1st time is a little intimidating, but in the end it is very simple. There is a video on youtube and plenty of threads in a google search to help with any questions you'll have.

Do you have one installed? I plan on advancing the timing after I install the spring.

I have a clipped one in my truck, timing bump helps up top in high rpm and with fuel mileage, but you loose low end torque. M&H has a timing spacer if you want to keep low end but still get the benefits of bumping the timing.
