Engine code 42 HELP

Hey guys I have a 1992 d250 5.9 cummins dodge pickup. I had a code 42 come on which I was told was the automatic shut down. So there is a relay on the drivers side firewall I was told so I replaced it, and now I drove my truck about 10 miles had dinner and the battery was dead. Any ideas? Thanks guys
