518 swap gone bad
I recently had a 518 swap done on my 89 d350. The truck just doesn't shift properly. I have messed with the TV cable over and over and just cant seem to get it right. If I unlock the cable, it seems to shift too soon, and too smooth. IF I lock the cable on the first setting, it tends to wind out and I have to let off the accelerator to make it shift. During this swap, is there anything extra needed to make it work? The overdrive is hooked to a switch and it will shift to OD when I turn it on. Im at wits end, and am going to take it to a TRUSTED tranny guy as soon as I can. My main question is, Are there any required pressure sensors or such to make this swap work correctly? I would greatly appreciate any help, and any advice.

I know it's much better to isolate your issue and fix it, but I'd thought I'd just throw it out there that a manual valve body would work, even if as a last resort (or second-to-last after re-swapping transmissions). I might even have one or two laying around if you get so fed up that you decide to go that route.
