Default 1st gen dead pedal

Hey guy this is my 1st post! So bare with me.

For a little back ground my truck is a 1991 non Intercooled w250 5Speed rig. It has 208000 miles on it, I service it regularly, filters changed often.

Engine is stock, turbo is a industrial injection phatshaft 62/12. All the free bee tricks are done to injection pump. Like rotate fuel pin, star wheel in afc diaphragm is all the way in, power screw has a couple turns on it. Fast idle screw backed all way out. Smoke screw has a turn on it.

So for the last year and a half the truck would be really moody. One day it would run like a raped ape and the next day it would loose a third of its power. And the drivabilty would suffer. Engine would sound real "diesely" and turbo would lag bad and wouldnt make normal manifold pressure #s or hold pressure. You would have to be hammered down to make over 10lbs. Then the next day start her up and she would great. Boost would start building at any throttle. And boost would come on nice and steady rate. It's been running good for last 2 weeks, hopefully it stays running good!!!

So to the dead pedal part. I was driving home from work wendsday night in a daze from the long day and all of a sudden goin 60 mph about quarter throttle. The truck started slowing down just like I took my foot off pedal. I thought my foot might have slipped of pedal so I thought nothing of it. Thursday ran great no dead pedal. Friday morning it dead pedaled twice in a 7 mi drive. On way home it did it 4 times before I Got a Half mile from work. And a couple more times at random times on rest of drive home. The last time it did it I kept my foot in the throttle to see if it would pick up, all the previous times it did it I got off throttle immediately and I'd get back on it it would come back, but when I kept my foot on throttle the truck just idled tell I released and pushed throttle again. The truck still starts fine
dosnt die or sputter or anything. Runs great........... sometimes hahaha

I'm just worried that my InjectIon pump is dieing. Any ideas guys??

Check the electrical connector at the fuel shut off solenoid.

I already checked the connections. I'm thinking that the solenoid itself is bad?

Rarely is the solenoid intermittent, but the electrical connections always. Get rid of the slip connector and replace it with a ring. Also, the solenoid is grounded through its body. The threads can oxidize leaving a bad connection. Loosen and tighten the FSS a few times to break the oxidation. Check the connector at the back of the engine. There are many places for an electrical failure. It's no fun, I know.
