Default Getrag plus NP205 question

I was wondering if I were to do the twin stick mod on the case if I could make the rear axle shifter a long stick, put a lower gearing in my axles, and potentially make this a twin stick shift truck. So I would start out with the t case in 2 low and shift up and then put it in 2 high to get more speeds out of the trans. Would this work? I want to do this in my 94 Chevy crew cab dually with a first gen swapped in it.I just think it would be do cool haha.thanks!

I'm sure you could, but.
The ratio difference between hi and lo range are not he best for splitting or doubling.
Hi/Lo shifting is difficult at best.
You would have to get some really high speed gears for the axle to make it practical.

I thought about it myself once and came up with the above list as to why it wasn't a good idea for that purpose. However, it is a great idea if you need a low range without having to go into 4wd. Which I think many of us have been there a time or 2.
