Check the relay under the hood for tcm also. I've had that thing give me problems before especially if you have a manual lock switch.

Have you adjusted the Throttle Valve Cable?

yea i adjusted it, dont wanna go any tighter cause it already shifts real firm now. it seems to shift really early too. 1-2 at about 10, 2-3 about 25-30 and if o/d is on it hits 4th at about 35 and takes forever almost feels like a slip till 48 when it locks but not the slightest slip when its locked

Looking at the fuse box from over the driver fender it's the 2nd row from the right (towards firewall), 4th slot down. Should be beside the fuse puller tool if there is one. I'd recommend buying a cover asap replacing coroded wires and connections isn't fun.

Let me ask you this, are you running a tc lockup switch?

After you shut the truck off and start back up will it go back to starting in first?

If yes for both take the relay out and replace it with a jumper wire.

ok thanks ill go look at it now. and yea im gonna pick up a cover from a gasser next time im at the junk yard just so its covered up. and no i dont have a lockup switch yet, and it has to sit for a little while (few hours) before it will be right...almost like the filter is getting plugged up somethin. the new gov pressure sensor and solinoid should be here soon so ill do those plus new fluid and filter and see what happens. thinking about maybe a shift kit while im in there

If your not running a lockout switch I'd guess it's somewhere in ur valvebody. Hopefully silinoid and sensor fixes it.
