cummins hands down. longer lasting, great fuel mileage if ur easy with ur right foot. plus wayyy more in the way of aftermarket if u ever wanna get some more out of it. just watch the auto trans in the dodge. they're weak. i burned thru 3 on a stock engine before i switched to the 5 speed

I had a 95 6.5 before I bought my 97 5.9. My 6.5 turned itself into a V10, without any mods. Never beat on it. If you want a engine that will last, buy the Cummins. Best engine ever put in a pick-up.

My 94 5 speed truck, on a 486 mile tank my gps said I averaged 32 mph and I got 15. On a 530 mile trip non-stop trip averaging 70-75 by my gps i get 16. Both my styles of driving kill fuel mileage and on top of everthing else I have a POORLY tuned afc, and 5x.014's.

Depends on a huge variety of things. I cant answer that but you have the option of doing it yourself, having someone do it, cost of parts, etc. Lots of variables

well, having someone else do it for sure im not very good with motors and stuff like that and the cheapest way in parts probably.
