Default 47rh problem...

This is in my 95 2wd. I have my TC and 4th gear on toggle switches, so 1, 2, and 3 should be hydrolic right? When I take off from a stop it shifts from 1 to 2 and then feels like it locks the TC and then right away trys to shift to 3 while keeping the TC locked which results in the truck shuddering and then kicking back out and into 2nd not locked. If I place the shifter into 2nd and keep it there it shifts 1 to 2 fine and stays like it should. and then if i shift it up into D and flip the TC lock switch or the 4 switch it shifts/locks just fine. The fluid level is fine and not burnt. The TC locks firm and does not slip. I have went over the wiring several times and changed out switches and still nothing. This doesnt happen all the time and it doesnt matter whether its warm or cold. Any ideas? Thanks

do you have the tc locked from take off? if you have it locked as soon as it goes into 2nd it will up shift to 3rd and you will get that shuddering feeling and bog down

a stock vb will only lock in 3rd or od, try not locking it until you are half way thru 2nd or so and then hit the switch, also if you have od on from take off as soon as you hit the lock up switch it will shift from 2nd to 3rd to od=lots of bogging

what i do with mine is take off and partically thru second hit lock-up switch, then wrap 3rd almost all the way out and then hit the od switch, with the 3gks kit in my truck i can push it to about 70mph in 3rd before i go into od

no i do not lock it from take off....I do not lock it until it shifts into third. Its locking on its own in 2nd and then jumping into 3rd locked all in one motion. i suspect valve body issues..but without electricity or lack of ground to the system it should be impossible for it to lock on its own until i switch the switch anyway let alone lock 2nd.

did you unhook the tranny from the factory computer completely? try adding a good frame ground to your trans and a good frame to battery ground

yes when i installed my switches i cut the wires and not just splice into them. so there should be no connection between the tranny and computer that i know of. I hace checked my grounds from batt to body, batt to motor, motor to frame, but i dont know if i had one from tranny to frame....i will get back to you with that thanks.

I'm having a somewhat similar issue. Did you get anything resolved? I sanded, cleaned and gresed every ground connection not in the cab with no improvement so far. 'Hope you have better luck.

got a ground from frame to tranny and all known grounds have been cleaned and my entire wiring harness has been looked through...im thinking that it has to be somthing in the tranny itself. It doest it randomly like there was 2 days this last week that it didnt do it but all of the sudden it just decides to be stupid. Unless someone else ha any suggestions i am thinking its time for a complete pull and rebuild.
