not without tearing the tranny apart
the 4wd output is shorter than the 2wd you will need to swap them out

you'd have to change output housing and mainshaft. There is no output shaft.

honestly your better off just getting a 4wd setup with the transfer case and just let the transfer case be there for if you ever wanted to convert to 4x4. when you buy the trans from a salvage yard its gonna cost about 100 bucks more to get a 4x4 one with the t-case vs a 2wd unit.

if you don't plan on doing a conversion, I'd recommend a 2wd trans if you can find one for a comparable price. I swapped mainshafts for a different reason, but in the end it was some money. I'm always an eff it I'll give it a try myself guy, but on that i still paid a professional to press in most of my bearings and adding that up by the time i was done I must have spent at least $300. The nv4500 is a simple transmission, but all that stuff is spinning fast under a lot of load. If your a machinist I'm sure you could do it no problem, but without the specialty tools you won't be feeling 100% about it when its done IMO.
