You don't need to tap anything. I think some guys use the oil filter housing's spare port, but it tends to get pretty toasty over there, and if you're not careful about how you route the wiring, you'll fry it pretty quick-like.

Sorry, though, I cannot tell you remember where exactly the factory oil-press sending unit is, but you could probably utilize that spot with a Tee or something.

Get a copper line kit of wrap the plastic line in vaccume hose and put it on the top of the oil filter housing that is the prime place but if you want the stock spot there is a 1/8 hole kinda under the P-pump had a big 1in long sending unit on it you cant miss it

Oil pressure gauge in the dash but not of oil temperature gauge it's not a bad thing to monitor really if you really big into it and have a high performance motor or you just got some extra money to spend you might as well do it I personally have 1 and I have to say that it probably wasn't worth the 83 dollars that I paid for the gauge and sending unit to put it in but that's just my personal opinion if I were to buy anything it would be a pyromoter boost fuel pressure oil pressure water temperature tranny temperature and drive pressure

i understand, i like to moniter anything i can on my truck, iv just never felt the need to wastch oil temp since theres nothing i can do to controll it if it were to hot. iv got a pyrometer and a boost guage now, id really like to get a drive pressure guage. not concerned with the trans temp on a 5spd truck but i do have one on my other truck with an nv4500 and youd be surprised at how hot the manual trans will get going down the ighway.
