Default having trouble settting timing

i ordered the timing kit from puredieselpower.com and i was tryin to set my timing tonight. i followed the directions, found tdc, set my indicator, turned the motor backwards (CCW) until the indicator stopped, zeroed it, turned the motor forward (CW) to tdc. 2.2mm. turned the motor forward more to try to get to 16.5 (6.5mm). i can only get the indicator to go to 4.75 before it stops climbing. what am i doing wrong? i know 2.2 is reaaaallllly off so i was wonder if i might have to set it to 4.75 n then do it again?

on a lighter note i did find its alot easier to turn the motor over when the truck isnt in GEAR...

So you might as well sell me that kit at half price now that you're done with it
