Default Brakes

got a 94 cummins having some brake issues when i put my foot on the brake it doesnt stop well,but i noticed my brake lights on could i need to add fluid or maybe re bleed them let me no maybe im due for new pads thanks for the help -pat

If the light is on you're probably low on fluid, and if thats the case you probably have a leak. So for starters I would make sure it's full and any leaks are fixed. Then you'll get a better idea if you need brake pads

ok,well the truck sat for a while b4 i bought it u think i should do new lines an add new fluid,what should i use for fluid new at the whole diesel world thanks for your help

dot3 fluid will be fine.

Its probably time for a complete inspection and overhaul. You can also swap in wheel cylinders from a chev 1 ton in the rear. These will really help increase the braking power of your rear drums. Should be able to find the p/n with a quick search.

ok i checked the fluid it is fine right up to the full line,u think i should try an bleed them then drain the system an put in new brake fluid?or could it be a broken line anything will do
