Default new to the 12 valves

ok i got a few questions also i just bought a 97 12 valve and trying to do a few cheap mods to it at first i messed with the star wheel and wasnt happy so i took out the fuel plate out with me taking the fuel plate out and not turning the star wheel back. does that mess everything up as in make it run rough?

it won't mess anything up ... it will just smoke like a train on the low end and run slightly better on the top

the stock gov springs only fuel to arround 2200 rpms before it starts to defuel, thats what your feeling. You can upgrade your gov springs to a 3k kit that fuels to 2700 - 2800 rpms or a 4k kit that fuels to 3500 - 3600 rpm.

My old 97 in bone stock form would pull hard to 3000rpm's. I would check the fuel press before spending $ on a GSK.
