maybe get your hand down there and try to feel of the angle it's at.... make sure that the angles are perfect and it should go.

yeah i have been out there for a hour now and still nothing. never had this much fun starting threads. i have been taking my time trying everything and just does not bite. the treads are pretty shallow on the plug it self. do they make a after market plug with a little more meat on the threads? threads are not messed up. anyone else has this much fun with the pump plug?

inspect the threads of the plug real good...................the first thread may be boogered, clean it up and try again..........maybe you have the wrong angle???

I did gov shims on my sons 94 a couple weeks ago and the plug took seconds..............maybe I got lucky

When your hanging like Magilla Gorrilla over the truck and attempting to bend like Gumby reach an area almost unreachable yet still trying to make that plug go in,its will create enough stress to make you want to commit tool abuse.

Old man once told me when you reach that point its time to put the tools down and walk away for some fresh air and get a new attitude about your work.

Have you taken a extension mirror and looked to make sure the threads are free from anything that would not allow the replacement of the plug?.

You have to push the shut off solenoid lever all the way towards the fire wall for the lip on the plug to get behind the set screw and start in the threads. It takes a me a while to get them started as well....but that is the big issue. Make sure that arm is pushed towards the firewall.

Yep. Make sure you get the lever all the way out of the way. I had mine out a dozen times over the weekend and mine would not start unless I moved the lever all the way over. It will set in the hole and feels like it should start but you gotta move the lever....
