I have an opportunity to pick up a new trans for my truck.Problem is its for a 2WD and my truck is 4WD.Can I just swap out the tail stocks without too much trouble? Frank -... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Yep....I am not sure but I think the output shaft might be different as well but I'm not sure. I have a 4x4 47RE in my garage that I thought about using for a 2wd project...I asked the same question and was told I could swap the housings. If you get a measurement I can measure my 4x4 housing and see if it's close to the same length and that might tell you is the output shafts are the same. -
