I started trouble shooting the fuel system and noticed my shutoff solenoid would only pop up if i manually worked it. checked the fusable link and could feel the wire is wavey under the plastic coating. ordered a new one. question is could the link ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

question is could the link just have been weak alowing just enough juice to let it start and run if i gave it enough peddle? |

I dought it............I think it will either be power on or off just like any switch??????
the new one will fix ya up though |

quick way to check is to pull the relay on the wall and jump it. from that relay you can pop the sylenoid and start the truck with a jumper. you'll be able to tell if everything is working. if it'll stay up when manually pulled but won't pop on it's own, just order a new relay for the firewall. that'll fix you up

will check the relay too but the link is definately bad also. I had checked the link a couple weeks ago and it didnt have the waviness under the plastic coating. will start there since its the cheapest route...but the solenoid does stay up when manually pulled up.
