Did the engine blocks between 1st and sec. generation really change...my question is what do I need to do to swap out the getrag 5spd out of 1990 to put a nv4500 in. It should bolt right up...right or do I need a different flywheel, ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

It's not the engine block, it's the adapter plate between. It is FACT that the Getrag adapter housing is DIFFERENT from the NV, as the bellhousings are different. The good news is that ANY adapter housing used on the automatics is also the same as the one needed to run a New Venture. Been there done that brother!
