well i know that napa does sell that BHAF for like $70 but then you have to construct a tube to hold it in place

vulcan has the best price on BHAFs.

How much smoke are we talking?

I would go with a washable BHAF myself. Both AEM and AFE make them, and they are non-oiled filters

Something tells me its time for a new turbo... A filter isn't gonna make much of a difference in reducing smoke on a turbo diesel.

depending on what size injectors you went with and the amount of mods you have done to the pump a turbo will be needed, a air filter and exhasut wont make that much of a difference

GO WITH A BHAF AND A 4" EXQUAST IT WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERANCE YOU NEED MORE AIR TO MIX WITH THE EXTRA FUEL YOU ADDED AND YOU NEED BIGGER EXQUAST TO GET BETTER FLOW OUT AS WELL THOUGHS ARE THE FIRST 2 THINGS YOIU SHOULD DO BEFORE ADDING MORE FUEL. THE BHAF FLEETGHUARD # IS AH19037 AND IF ITS THE SAME AS A 98 TRUCK IT WILL FIT RIGHT ON THE STOCK INTAKE PIPE YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO COVER SOME AC LINES AND THE BOLTS FROM YOUR STOCK AIR BOX FOR RUBBING REASONS.THERE ARE ALSO TEMPLATES FOR THE HEAT SHEILD FLOATING AROUND. AND YES THERE IS A LIMIT TO THE STOCK TURBO BUT IF AL YOU HAVE DONE IS A SET OF INJECTORS AND ARE STILL RUNNING THE STOCK AIR INTAKE AND EXQUAST THEN THEY MUST BE REPLACED.

The amsoil filter in those tests don't exist anymore. They've gone to a synthetic media:

i would say efficently high 300's low 400's at most but ther is guys that hit 500 with a crap load of fuel, dangerously high egts and the risk of killing your turbo.
