Default transmission how much?

i'm thinking about having my tranny rebuilt this summer.

i'm planning on #10 plate (might go a bit bigger?)
370 injectors,hx40, 4" exhaust aem intake and a boost elbow.

how much should i be looking at spending for a built up auto for my 94?
whats done to make them built up??

Probably right around $4500 with Goerends. I would go with there trans, billet input and billet flexplate. That should hold what you are wanting.goerend

Base trans for 400hp is $3250 plus sipping each way. Then I would recomend a billet input for $650, and a billet flexplate for like $450. BD has the cheapest flexplate. Dave sells an upgraded flex for $150 I was told.

i figured i would have the local tranny guy rebuild it.
i get a deal

we own a small wrecker service and we take a few vehicles to him. so he treats us pretty good. i just havn't called yet to see how good..

but from what i'm seeing for prices. seems like i would be better off converting to a standard.

i'm sure i can convert the rig over for less then $2000

Well I'm converting mine to an NV4500 but I got a heck of a deal on everything. I'll have very little into everything and that is including a slightly used Southbend.

Fixed....

94 IIRC had a 47RH ..... call Dave and talk prices with him and tell him what you are going to do with the truck....HP and workin' it wise..... i think the base price is $2850 with a single disc converter.... and with that being said his warranty and customer service is what i paid for.... the high quality transmission, converter and billet flexplate were the icing on the cake..... you can go big and spend $5-6K like i did..... i wanted it done once and done right..... how long after that NV4500 swap will the clutch go out or will 5th gear fail..... then the labor to remove it and down time...... Dave offers a 100K mile limited warranty on all his products and is the only manufacture out there that offers a limited LIFETIME warranty on the tripple disc converter..... just some words of thought......

i have fixed manual transmission. i haven't even opened a auto.
i have dealt with a whole bunch to T5's

personally i prefer a manual any way. i only considered a built auto cuz i figured the conversion would be a pain in the butt also having to track down all the parts necessary.

i only paid $3500 for my truck. it was to good to pass up. other wise i would have waited for a good rig with a manual trans to come around.

don't get me wrong i'm sure he builds a great trans.
but with shipping cost, core charge and cost of the trans it self.

a manual trans is starting to look pretty good. i'm on a limited budget.
i have a 86 gsxr 750, 81 cb750f super sport and a 12' speed boat with trailer and 85 evinrude.

i figured i should be able to sell them to buy a good trans set up.
i bought them all pacifically to resell.
